  • Paul Pogba's return to Juventus this summer suffered a blow after he suffered a serious injury just days after he had completed the move
  • The injury is expected to keep the former Manchester United midfielder on the sidelines for a lengthy period
  • Reports now suggest that Juventus are keen to find a replacement for the France international ahead of the new season
  • Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez is said to have been offered to the Serie A giants as an alternative

Italian giants Juventus are reportedly shopping for a replacement for Paul Pogba, barely days after they re-signed the midfielder.

It is understood that the decision has been occasioned by a recent injury suffered by the French star.

Pogba penned a four-year deal with Juve after his departure from Manchester United at the end of last season.

According to The Mirror, Pogba was expected to be one of the club's stars signings this summer.

However, the World Cup-winning star has been hit by a huge injury setback just weeks after he rejoined the Old Lady.

The development was confirmed by Juventus earlier this week, with the club announcing that their summer signing had torn his meniscus, ruling him out of their pre-season trip to Dallas.

“Following the pain reported in his right knee, Paul Pogba was subjected to radiological investigations which revealed a lesion of the lateral meniscus," the club said.

Saul Niguez offered to Juventus to replace Paul Pogba

Reports in Italy now claim that Massimiliano Allegri is in the market to find a replacement for the 29-year-old, who is facing a lengthy period on the sidelines.

According to El Larguero, via Calciomercato, Spanish midfielder Saul Niguez has emerged as a possible alternative,

Niguez had previously been linked with a move to Roma, but that offer was turned down, with Atletico Madrid reportedly presenting him to Juve instead.
