Nigerian Governor hosts Super Falcons star Nnadozie after returning from 2022 WAFCON

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has hosted Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie after she returned from the 2022 African Women Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Although the Super Falcons of Nigeria failed in their bid to retain the title after losing in the semifinal against hosts Morocco and they also lost the third place match against Zambia.

Their fighting spirit in the encounter against Morocco touched the hearts of many football fans as the Super Falcons played 50 minutes with 9 women after Halimatu and Ajibade were red carded.

Zambian girls were impressive in their tie against the Super Falcons as goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie scored the own goal which condemned Nigeria into a 1-0 loss.

According to the photo Chiamaka Nnadozie posted on her Twitter page, the 21-year-old goalkeeper thanked the Imo State Governor and his wife for hosting her at the Government House.

Felicitations As Rasheedat Ajibade Emerges Joint Top Scorer At WAFCON

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigeria Football Federation has congratulated Super Falcons’ forward Rasheedat Ajibade for emerging joint top-scorer of the just concluded 12th Women Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Although the team missed out on its ambition of a 10th title and even failed to pick up a medal after losing to Zambia in the bronze medal game, Super Falcons secured a ticket to the FIFA World Cup.

Ajibade finished the competition with three goals and three assists making her joint top scorer alongside South Africa’s Hilda Magaia and Moroccan captain Ghizlane Chebbak.

While Hildah Magaia scored two goals to guide the Banyana Banyana to their first-ever WAFCON title, Chebbak was named the Player of the Tournament for consistently surprising everyone with her outstanding performances during the tournament.
