Ronaldo even missed the club's pre-season tour of Australia and Thailand but returned to their training earlier week for showdown talks.

Despite the forward's decision to leave, the Red Devils are said to be unwilling to sanction his departure and want him to be part of Erik ten Hag's squad next season.

According to The Sun, the former Real Madrid attacker has now resumed training with Man United.

The development came barely a day after he watched on the sidelines as United played Wrexham in a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly.

Meanwhile, despite the Red Devils' struggles last season, Ronaldo was the shining light at the club as he netted an eyewatering 24 goals across competitions.
