Adorable video has emerged on social media where Zambian women national team were spotted being given military escort while going round the city of Lusaka after the 2022 WAFCON.

The Zambian women were in brilliant form at the tournament where they got to the semifinal before they suffered controversial defeat against South Africa who went on to win the title.

A late minute penalty given to South Africa in the semifinal of the WAFCON was all they needed to beat the Zambian girls.

But after the defeat, the Zambian girls put that behind them and produced incredible performance in the third place match against Nigeria winning 1-0.

Who scored for Zambia against Nigeria?

A 29th minute own goal by goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie was all Zambia needed to beat the Super Falcons of Nigeria 1-0.

According to the video spotted on Facebook, the Zambian women were treated as heroes by those in charge of the Government.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how She-polopolo of Zambia have emerged third at the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco following their 1-0 win over the Super Falcons of Nigeria on Friday night.

The lone goal of the encounter came in the 29th minute after the ball came off the woodwork to hit goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and into her own net.

Nigeria will leave the tournament having secured an automatic ticket to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup to be hosted in Australia and New Zealand.

But the Super Falcons looked the better side in the opening minutes as they launched attacks from the first blast of the whistle.

Desperate for an opener, Randy Waldrum's ladies looked to catch the Zambians from the flanks in the 12th minute, but the opposition defence stood solid.

In the 21st minute, Grace Chanda made an attempt in the Nigerian area, but her effort was thwarted as the game became balanced.
