Details have emerged on how Manchester United players treated Cristiano Ronaldo after his return to the club's training ground.

Ronaldo has been missing in action for weeks now and even missed United's pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia.

The veteran forward's absence came at a time he is staring at an uncertain future with the Red Devils, with reports suggesting he is keen to exit Old Trafford this summer.

However, he is understood to have jetted back to the UK on Monday, July 25, and reported at the Carrington Training Complex on Tuesday.

At the time, he was accompanied by his agent, Jorge Mendes, with talks on Ronaldo's future with United taking centre stage.

Cristiano Ronaldo gets warms reception

Ronaldo was reportedly accorded a warm reception from his Man United teammates on his return.

According to Spanish outlet AS, the 37-year-old met United boss Erik ten Hag upon his arrival, with the two understood to have discussed the Dutchman's project at the club and his mission to bring back the glory days.

The publication adds that Ronaldo met Portuguese and Brazilian players at the club and even stopped for a conversation.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes has aimed a subtle dig at Cristiano Ronaldo following the Red Devils' 3-1 thrilling win over Crystal Palace in a pre-season friendly.

Fernandes appeared to suggest that Manchester United are better off without the unsettled Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is yet to link up with the rest of the Manchester United squad for the pre-season amid reports he is looking to leave the club.
