It has now emerged that the first round of talks between Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United officials have broken down.
Ronaldo is said to be still keen on forcing his exit out of the club this summer. After skipping preseason training, the Portuguese international was seen at Carrington Training Ground yesterday.
Reports had indicated that he was back to try and find a solution to his immediate future. Club legend Sir Alex Ferguson and the club's Chief Executive Officer(CEO) Richard Arnold were also spotted at the training complex.

But Metro UK now reports that Ronaldo, despite meeting with Ferguson, a figure that he holds in high esteem, did not back down from his desire to move out of Old Trafford. Ferguson is credited with the formative years of Ronaldo when he arrived from Sporting Lisbon. The retired manager also played a critical role in bringing the five-time Ballon d'Or winner back to United last summer.
However, Manchester Evening News reports that Manchester United have refuted claims that Ferguson and Arnold were at the club's facilities to discuss Ronaldo's future. The report has passed the duo's appearance and Ronaldo's as coincidence.
As it stands, Ronaldo is still a Manchester United player, with the next few days crucial for both parties. The new Premier League season kicks off in less than 10 days.
