Xavi is happy to let the 21-year-old leave, but Dest has no desire to leave Camp Nou. Dest has been hampered by injuries since joining the Catalan side but is eager to stay and fight for his place.
With Barcelona attempting to sign Jules Koundé, the Blaugrana are looking to cut players like Dest to free up and lessen the wage bill. Marca have reported that Barcelona are alone in trying to sign Koundé after Chelsea pulled out of the running.
Dest has a slim chance of securing a spot in the team next season, though, after Dani Alves recently departed and Barca have yet to secure Cesar Azpilicueta’s signature.
With no major right-back available at the club at present, Dest has a chance to make the position his own this season.
