FootballJoshua Kimmich Thinks Sadio Mané Will Be Valuable to Bayern Munich but Won’t Reach Robert Lewandowski’s Level
- Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich believes that every player will need to chip in with goals
- Joshua Kimmich agrees that Sadio Mané is good but doesn't think he will reach the heights of Robert Lewandowski
- Robert Lewandowski scored 50 goals in all competitions for Bayern Munich during the last season
Joshua Kimmich doesn’t believe Sadio Mané will be able to replicate Robert Lewandowski’s goal-scoring prowess at the German club.
Lewandowski left the Bundesliga outfit for FC Barcelona in Spain after scoring an impressive 344 goals in seven seasons in Germany.
The Polish striker scored 50 goals in all competitions for Munich last season and has been averaging 40 goals a season for the side, TransferMarkt confirmed.
Kimmich doesn’t think Mané will be able to reach those heights but insists that every player will have to chip in to make up for the shortfall, Goal reported.

"With Lewy’s departure, we lost a lot of goals. We have to catch that collectively," Kimmich said.
He added that he knew Mané was a great player but didn’t think he could score 40 or 50 goals per season.
"He will certainly score one or two goals for us, which is also important after Lewy's departure. But the 50 goals have to come from somewhere,” Kimmich added.
Mané scored one goal and provided one assist on debut against DC United and will be hoping to do the same against Manchester City.
Munich will take on the English champions in a friendly this weekend, before turning their attention to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup next weekend.
