Moment Pitch Invaders Rushed To Take Selfie With Man United Star Fernandes During Portugal Win Over Azerbaijan
- Bruno Fernandes caught the attention of some pitch invaders as Portugal cruised to a routine 3-0 win over Azerbaijan
- One stand out event during the game was the mobbing of Bruno Fernandes from eager fans who wanted a selfie with him
- Fans surrounded the Manchester United superstar towards the end of the game begging him for selfies
Manchester United maestro Bruno Fernandes on Tuesday, September 7, felt the love from his ardent fans, albeit by force, as he was surprised by several pitch invaders in the win over Azerbaijan.
In the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal were still too strong for their opponents as they cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win.
Bernardo Silva, Andre Silva, and Diogo Jota got on the score sheet to ensure Portugal stayed top of Group A.
Notably, Bruno Fernandes was heavily involved in two of the goals scored on the day and his performances attracted some fans, who decided to take their chances for a selfie.
Moments before the end of the game, four fans ran onto the pitch and surrounded the Portuguese star, asking for selfies.
Oddly enough, security were in no hurry to get the pitch invaders away from the Manchester United star.
They got what they came for and luckily enough, they were only there for selfies amid the risk footballers face when fans randomly run up to them.
Van Dijk snubs fan during presser
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a similar incident was witnessed over the weekend when Liverpool ace Virgil Van Dijk pushed away a fan who was clearly eager to take a picture with him after the game against Norway.
The Liverpool defender had just led the Netherlands to a frustrating 1-1 draw against Norway in which Erling Haaland was among the goalscorers
A visibly annoyed Van Dijk was having an interview with Dutch Television at the time and had little patience for the overzealous supporter.
He was in no mood to entertain a selfie-seeking fan following the Netherlands' frustrating 1-1 draw.
The yet-to-be-identified fan was hoping to get a selfie with Van Dijk only for the Liverpool defender to push him from the platform.
The Dutch skipper later gathered his composure and calmly continued with the interview.
