SAFA Blames Negligence for Embarrassing Explicit Tweet Which Caused Uproar

• The South African Football Association has blamed negligence for an embarrassing tweet that appeared on its Twitter page
• Followers were taken aback when an undressed woman appeared in a post, which was clearly a hack
• The image was accompanied by the caption "with my favourite babe", and has since been removed

According to IOL, SAFA spokesperson Dominic Chimhavi said:

"Unfortunately, we saw the image. Our account was hacked and we are trying to rectify that. We are working on changing the passwords."

In June, Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams and teammate Nyiko Mobbie's accounts were hacked. On that same weekend, Rugby World Cup-winning former Springbok coach and current South African Rugby Union director of rugby Rassie Erasmus account also suffered the same fate, as was also reported by IOL.

In 2015, Cricket South Africa's Facebook account was also compromised, as was reported by Eyewitness News.
