Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero says the Premier League champions will miss attacking pair Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.

Man City shipped out Sterling and Jesus in the ongoing summer to Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal respectively as manager Pep Guardiola seeks to reinvigorate his attack with fresh faces.

The Spanish tactician has brought in precocious Norwegian talent Erling-Braut Haaland and promising Argentine attacker Julian Alvarez as the Citizens seek to reenact their Premier League credentials while chasing the elusive Champions League.

Jesus was a periphery member of Guardiola's squad during his seven-year spell with the Citizens while Sterling's presence in the starting lineup waned prior to his move to Chelsea.

The Brazilian has hit the ground running at Arsenal scoring in all pre-season games he has played so far with many anticipating a great campaign for the 25-year-old. Meanwhile, Sterling was handed a few minutes on Chelsea's pre-season tour in the US.

Assessing their departure, the ex-Argentina international believes Sterling and Jesus, who were integral members of Man City, Aguero hinted they will be missed.

"Both players were important in the City scheme" Aguero told Stake via GOAL.
"I'm sure City will miss them a lot as they are great players. There will be a new make-up of the attack but this is a team with a great squad that will be ready for new challenges."

Aguero backs Haaland to do well at Man City

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that legendary Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has cautioned Erling Haaland will need time to adapt to the gruelling nature of the Premier League.

Haaland joined Man City from German outfit Borussia Dortmund in the summer and is expected to spearhead Pep Guardiola's charges to title success in both domestic and European competitions.

Aguero is confident the Norwegian hitman, who scored an eyewatering 61 goals in 66 Bundesliga games, will excel under Pep Guardiola however will need time to get used to his new environment.
