FC Köln may have suffered defeat to AC Milan in a pre-season friendly, but the game will be remembered for a whole different set of reasons.

The German side hosted the Italian champions, but were beaten 2-1 thanks to two stunning goals by Olivier Giroud.

Giroud scored in the 16th and 36th minute for the Italians, while Florian Dietz grabbed a goal back for the hosts in the 86th minute of the encounter.

Despite the defeat, fans were treated to some incredible footage, thanks to the new revolutionary body cameras, InsideSport reported.

Two FC Köln players wore bodycams, which provided viewers with a chance to watch certain highlights from the perspective of the player. Certain highlights from the game have since been released, with one capturing the moment the German side scored their equaliser.

The technology has been described as playing FIFA in the future.

The technology was also used at the recent Arab Cup, which was held inside four of the eight World Cup stadiums in Doha.

It was gathered that Artificial Intelligence will be used to track players, with the chairman of FIFA's Referees' Committee, Pierluigi Collina, stating that decisions will come faster with more accuracy.

Mirror reports that the world’s football governing body will deploy the technology in Qatar this winter as the AI software will track players, while a sensor will be placed in the Adidas World Cup ball.
