FootballAl Ahly Continues to Struggle After Pitso Mosimane's Departure, Suffering Defeat to Pyramids FC
- Life after Pitso Mosimane appears to be tough for Egyptian giants Al Ahly after yet another defeat
- This time, it was the turn of Pyramids FC to down the Red Devils in the Egyptian Premier League
- This was the third time in seven matches since the 57-year-old suddenly called it quits in early June
Al Ahly continued to struggle following Pitso Mosimane's departure from the club last month.
The Red Devils suffered a home 2-0 defeat to Pyramids FC in the Egyptian Premier League, courtesy of goals by Ben Youssef and Eric Traore. This defeat was new coach Ricardo Soares' first defeat since taking over from the 57-year-old South African, with his side having dropped points in three out of their last seven games.
The result saw the 'Club of the Century' remain nine points behind log leaders Zamalek, who are on 57 points to Ahly's 48. However, the latter has two matches in hand, having played 23 in contrast to Zamalek's 25.
Some South Africans have taken a savage pleasure in this downturn in fortune for however long it may last.

The saying goes that you don't know what you have until it is gone.
As reported by Sports Brief, it appears that some Al Ahly supporters are feeling this sentiment following the departure of their former South African coach at the start of June.
The Citizen reported that many have gone on social media to lament his absence as the Red Devils continued putting in lacklustre performances in his absence.
