South African Schools Football Association CEO said to the Daily Sun:

"Yes, I worked with him. "S'Coachana", as I affectionately called him, was one of the best in dealing with youngsters, especially beginners. He had a special way of making them feel at home as most of them [would have left] home for the first time at the age of 12 and 13 leaving their parents. They came into a highly competitive environment."

He added:

"He was loved by all staff and kids for his unassuming personality. The beautiful game, especially football development is poorer with him so untimely gone. Like all stars he probably had to go up to give us light for stars don't belong on the ground."

Funeral arrangements had not yet been made public at the time of publication.
