  • Sevilla lead the list of clubs interested in the services of Nicolas Pepe, with Arsenal ready to sell the forward
  • Pepe's time at Arsenal has been calamitous after making the big-money move from Lille three years ago
  • Leeds United, Olympique Marseille and Lyon are the other clubs considering moves for the Ivory Coast international

Nicolas Pepe is set to be offloaded by Arsenal this summer. The club has come to terms that this was a business move gone wrong, with the former Lille man failing to live up to his hefty price tag.

Arsenal paid a club record fee of 72 million euros in 2019, but Pepe has struggled for form and consistency in England.

Pepe does not feature heavily in head coach Mikel Arteta's plans. The Ivorian only started five Premier League games last season.

Arteta has often preferred the younger players in Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith-Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli to play in positions that would favour Pepe.

The Daily Star reports that Sevilla have already initiated contact to sign the 27-year-old. The La Liga side will, however, want Pepe to reduce his current 100,000 euros weekly wage at Arsenal.

The Gunners are also seeking to get 25 million euros from the sale, but Sevilla are only willing to part with at least 15 million euros.

The Daily Mail additionally reports that Lyon and Marseille are also interested in bringing him back to Ligue One, where he had massive success with Lille. Leeds United are also looking at signing him as a replacement for Raphinha, who has since joined Barcelona.

Lucas Paqueta has no problems with joining Arsenal this summer

Sports Brief has also reported that Arsenal has received a major boost in their pursuit of Lucas Paqueta after it emerged that the midfielder has no qualms about moving to England this summer.

Mikel Arteta is busy replenishing his squad ahead of next season and the midfield area is one of his key priorities.

The Gunners have already signed Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus alongside backup goalkeeper Matt Turner. Paqueta could be a good addition for Arteta in the middle of the pack to complement the established Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka.
