The England international is one of the very few players to have featured for Liverpool, Manchester City and now Chelsea.

But in his decade-long playing career the London-born Chelsea forward never represented the club he fell in love with during his formative years.

Sterling told the Daily Mirror as quoted by Sky Sports: "I shouldn't really say this - not now, definitely not now! - but when I was young I was a massive United fan."
"I had an old United kit, from when they won the last FA Cup. I was at the final in 2007."
"If two or three of the kids could be inspired, then that's all I was trying to do. Surely, that's how I felt at the time."
"If there was a kid who had a chance of being a footballer, hopefully, that will give them motivation or inspiration to change their dreams."

Raheem Sterling wants to prove his worth on the pitch for Chelsea

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Raheem Sterling has announced his intentions as Chelsea's most-recent recruit, disclosing he is ready to do his 'talking on the pitch'.

Sterling completed a five-year deal from Premier League champions Manchester City and is raring to go for the Blues.

The 27-year-old becomes the first major signing in the post-Abramovich era and is expected to bolster the attack of Thomas Tuchel ahead of what promises to be an exciting 2022-23 season.
