  • FC Barcelona have been blasted heavily on Twitter over their announcement video for Ousmane Dembele's new contract
  • Dembele has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal for the Spanish giants, which is said to include a salary cut
  • The France international joins the likes of Franck Kessie, Raphinha and Andreas Christensen as major summer arrivals

Football fans have taken to social media to troll FC Barcelona over their underwhelming announcement video for Ousmane Dembele's new contract.

Dembele re-signed for the Catalan-giants after becoming a free agent earlier this month, the Spanish club announced on Thursday.

The 25-year-old has penned a two-year contract with the former La Liga champions that will expire on June 30, 2024.

Negotiations had initially broken down between the two parties, with Dembele rejecting Barcelona's offer.

The Frenchman, whose deal expired last month, looked set to dump the Camp Nou outfit for a move to the Premier League on a free transfer.

But decided to stay with the former La Liga champions after talks with manager Xavi.

Chelsea were reportedly one of the clubs interested in signing him, but the Frenchman was determined to stay at the Camp Nou.

As a result, Dembele arrives as a ‘new signing’ for the La Liga giants and joins the likes of Franck Kessie, Raphinha and Andreas Christensen as major summer arrivals.

The video announcement saw Dembele's name written on a whiteboard with '2022' below it. He then scribbled it off and replaced it with '2024' to update his stay at the Nou Camp.

Yet it didn't go down well on social media, with many slating the idea and joking that cash-strapped Barca had no budget to produce a proper video:
