Mason Mount has backed Raheem Sterling to instantly impact the Chelsea team following his stunning summer move to Stamford Bridge from Man City.

Sterling officially sealed his switch to west London on Wednesday, July 13, ending weeks of speculation surrounding his future at Man City.

According to The Mirror, Sterling penned a five-year contract with Chelsea worth £300,000 per week to become the first signing of Todd Boehly's era.

The wingman is understood to have undergone a medical in London over the weekend before he jetted into Los Angeles to link up with his new teammates.

Mason Mount reacts to Raheem Sterling's Chelsea arrival

An excited Mount has now shared his feelings about Sterling's transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Mount hailed Sterling as a 'top player' exuding confidence that the winger's Premier League experience and professionalism will come in handy as the Blues hope to challenge for trophies next season.

“Top, top guy. Obviously such an experienced player and a top-class professional,” Mount told Sky Sports News.
“For him to be joining us is only going to bring our levels higher. He is definitely someone who strives for high levels and win," he added.

Sterling spent seven years at Etihad Stadium, scoring 131 goals in 337 appearances for the Citizens over the past seven years.

Kalidou Koulibaly in London to seal Chelsea move

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Chelsea are closing in on a sensational summer transfer for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

Koulibaly is understood to have jetted into London to complete his medical ahead of a summer move.

The Senegalese centre-back is expected to fill the void left by Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger who moved to the La Liga.
