Former Super Eagles captain Sunday Oliseh has lauded Victor Osimhen’s efforts in front of goal, saying the striker could be better than Cameroon legend Samuel Eto’o.
Osimhen has been impressive in front of goal since joining Italian giants Napoli in the summer of 2020 and many have tipped him to become great.
The 23-year-old found the back of the net 18 times in 32 matches in all competitions for the Partenopei last season and helped the club qualify for the Champions League.
He has also been in sensational scoring form for the Super Eagles and Oliseh has now stated that the former Lille of France star could be better than former Barcelona man Samuel Eto’o.

With Osimhen being linked with Bayern Munich, Oliseh told Punch:
“He (Osimhen) has all the qualities to excel at the club so I think he should stay. I’m happy to see him now finally doing his thing, he can be better than Samuel Eto’o if he keeps up with his scoring form.
“One thing is certain, should any team get (Victor) Osimhen, they will move strikingly up to another level.”
Soccernet reports that Osimhen is Africa’s most expensive transfer, having moved to Napoli from Lille in a deal worth more than 80 million euros.

Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen could be on the verge of joining Bayern Munich this summer as the Bundesliga champions are weighing up an astronomical bid for the Nigerian.
Osimhen has been hugely impressive for the Serie A giants since joining the club in 2020 from Lille and emerged as the team’s top scorer in the 2021/22 campaign with 18 goals in all competitions.
The 23-year-old’s performances have now attracted the interest of Bayern Munich, who are now willing to table €120m to sign the Nigerian forward from Napoli.
