- Among them were Absalom ‘Scara’ Thindwa, Nelson ‘Teenage’ Dladla, Jan ‘Malombo’ Lechaba, Marks ‘Go-Man-Go’ Maponyane and Doctor ‘16V’ Khumalo
Those familiar with Kaizer Chiefs' history would have been left agape at the collection of individuals who converged on Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena recently.
A constellation of stars from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s met to discuss various topics around the club. These included the passing of club great Jerry Sadike, to an upcoming event next month in KwaZulu-Natal to honour the late China Ngema, one of the founders of the Amakhosi in 1970.
Co-founder and chairman Kaizer Motaung told the club's website:
“I need to shake everyone’s hands, because I can’t believe who has come here today. These players were part of an important part of our history from the start. We value their contributions and want to keep getting them together as often as we can.

The Daily Sun reported that Sadike passed away on 01 July at a hospital in Edenvale at the age of 70. He had been reported missing from his Orlando home, having been under treatment after having suffered a stroke earlier this year.
Ngema passed away, aged 79-years-old in July 2013.

As reported by Sports Brief, the midfielder joined the Amakhosi as a free agent after his contract with AmaZulu FC ended. Sithebe was one of the many new faces brought into the club as the Glamour Boys look to end their title drought this season.
Chiefs last won the title back in 2015.
