Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will meet in the semi-final of the DStv Diski Shield next weekend.

Amakhosi and Masandawana’s reserves overcame small scares against SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates to make the final four.

In the second semi-final, Chippa United will take on the DStv Diski Challenge champions, Stellenbosch FC.

Chippa were the first side to advance to the final four when they beat TS Galaxy 1-0.

Sundowns then edged out Orlando Pirates 2-1 in the second semi-final. Pirates scored late to make the game more interesting, but could not force the tie to penalties.

Stellenbosch then dispatched Maritzburg United 2-1 in the third quarter-final. Stellies took an early two-goal lead thanks to Ro-Keane Avontuur and Mervin Boji, Soccer Laduma reported.

Siphesihle Ngcobo scored on the hour mark but Stellies hung onto the lead.

Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United then ended the quarter-final action with a six-goal thriller. The Amakhosi won the encounter 4-2 and booked the final spot in the final four.

The draw for the semis was conducted after the Chiefs game and saw the Glamour Boys drawn to face Sundowns.

The match is a repeat of the recent Engine Knockout Challenge final which saw the U/19s for either side do battle. Chiefs won that game on penalties after that match was tied 1-1 at full time, The South African reported.

Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United put on an absolute thriller in the DStv Diski Shield earlier today.

The Amakhosi and Matsatsantsa scored six goals between them as they competed for a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament.

SuperSport took the lead as early as the sixth minute but Amakhosi weren't behind for long.
