Wandile Duba Scores Twice As Kaizer Chiefs Down SuperSport United in 6 Goal Thriller in DStv Diski Shield

Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United put on an absolute thriller in the DStv Diski Shield earlier today.

The Amakhosi and Matsatsantsa scored six goals between them as they competed for a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament.

It didn’t take long for the action to get going as Tendamudzimu Matodzi scored in the sixth minute of the game.

The Amakhosi were level within five minutes as Aden McCarthy scored from close range after SuperSport’s defenders failed to clear a Mfundo Vilakazi corner.

Chiefs then doubled the lead in the 24th minute when Wandile Duba headed home from close range. Donay Jansen’s original header rebounded off the crossbar and into the path of Duba who made no mistake. Dube made it three just ten minutes later when he scored a stunning strike from outside of the box.

The Amakhosi went into the break with a two-goal advantage and held it for just 13 minutes before Tendamudzimu Matodzi bagged a second goal to bring SuperSport to within one. Any thoughts of a comeback were dashed just two minutes later when Puso Dithejane, who came on as a sub, scored the Amakhosi’s fourth goal to round off a 4-2 win.

Mamelodi Sundowns are moving on to the semi-finals of the DStv Diski Shield.

The DStv Diski Shield sees the top eight placed sides in the DStv Diski Challenge compete for the first trophy of the season for the reserves.

Cassius Mailula broke the deadlock at the hour mark, scoring one of the most bizarre goals scored. Riandre Vries fired a shot on target, which the Pirates keeper palmed upwards. The ball came back down and bounced twice off the crossbar before Mailula headed in from close range.
