  • Ian Wright, Arsenal's second-highest all-time top scorer, believes Tottenham Hotspur are building a frightening team with their summer transfer signings
  • Spurs have already signed Ivan Perisic, Richarlison, Forster and Yves Bissouma with a move for Barcelona's Clement Lenglet on the horizon
  • Antonio Conte's charges pipped Arsenal to the now coveted fourth spot in the Premier League and are looking forward to going a step further in challenging for the league title

Ian Wright has expressed his fears about Tottenham following their inch-perfect summer signings.

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has not hidden his attempts of establishing Spurs as a force in the Premier League with statement signings in the ongoing summer transfer.

The Italian has swooped Brighton and Malian midfielder Yves Bissouma to shore up his midfield options.

While goalkeeper Fraser Forster and 2018 World Cup finalist, Ivan Perisic would link up with Conte after they worked together at Inter Milan.

Talks are at an advanced stage for Spurs to secure a loan move for Barcelona centre-half Clement Lenglet as Antonio Conte seeks to build on the fourth spot finish last season.

Despite Tottenham's onslaught in the transfer market, Arsenal has not shied away from improving their squad with the acquisition of Gabriel Jesus, midfielder Fabio Vieira, goalkeeper Matt Turner and Brazilian forward Marquinhos.

Assessing Tottenham's transfer signings, Ian Wright said: “I feel Tottenham are going to cause problems. You can’t be jealous of that summer, especially coming from the other side of north London." He told Wrighty’s House by Ringer FC via TalkSport.
He continued: “They are frightening man. Everything we are doing at Arsenal, and I am putting on as my armour. But we have done this. We have Vieira. We have two number 10’s now. And we are still trying for Tielemans. And we have Gabriel Jesus."
“So, you are trying to arm yourself because the Tottenham fans are saying ‘well, we kind of have Bissouma now, Richarlison, Kane, then Bentancur is going to kick in and we have seen what Romero is about’.
“When you look at how Tottenham can flex when they are doing it under this manager, it kind of makes me feel a little bit, you know.”

Ian Wright makes a passionate rant about the disrespect shown to AFCON

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Arsenal and England striker Ian Wright has boldly claimed that there is some negative media coverage on the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

The spectacle, which will entail 24 prestigious African Nations competing for footballing glory in the continent, is set to kick off on January 9.

A number of powerhouses are expected to cause ripples in the delayed tournament including Nigeria, Egypt and Ghana, as well as defending champions Algeria.
