Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has torn into the new set of rules introduced by new manager Erik ten Hag.

Ten Hag has hit the ground running at United's Carrington Training Complex by laying the foundation of how he wants things to run during his time at the club.

The former Ajax manager has the big task of taking back the club to its glory days after very disappointing spells from past managers since Alex Ferguson left.

Metro UK reports that he has since introduced five cardinal rules to be followed by the players. Key among the rules is that players must run any issues they have through him and not through their agents or any other sources.

He has also banned alcohol during match weeks and no further use of personal chefs. All meals will be prepared by the club's chefs.

Legendary midfielder Paul Scholes has appeared to take issue with the new rules by captions a post on his Instagram story;

Scholes remains one of the most decorated midfielders to play for Manchester United. The retired player won 11 Premier League titles, 2 Champions League titles and three FA Cups, among other trophies.

Detailed new rules introduced by new Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag

Sports Brief had reported that Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag has laid down the principles he wants his players to abide by as he takes charge of the Old Trafford club this season.

The Dutch manager who is known to be a strict disciplinarian, has set five sets of rules which he believes will help to develop a strong bond with United's players and make them a winning team.

Erik ten Hag has now revealed any player late to training or team meetings will be dropped without exception while adding that drinking alcohol during a match week is also banned.
