Chelsea bankroller Todd Boehly has suggested that he has enjoyed productive transfer talks with Barcelona chiefs in Spain on Thursday evening.

Reports emanating in Catalonia suggest the American businessman was in Catalonia to negotiate a deal involving Barcelona and Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

It is also claimed that Boehly used the opportunity to discuss the imminent departure of Chelsea duo Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta and director of football Mateu Alemany were said to be in attendance with the Chelsea owner.

After the meeting, Boehly was spotted in a video on Twitter responding to Cadena Cope reporter by saying:

"Great food, great meal. Wonderful food."

He added that he has reached an agreem

Chelsea are said to be eyeing a move for Frenkie de Jong who has widely been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Thomas Tuchel's side are reportedly willing to offer Barcelona the duo of Azpilicueta and Alonso to sweeten the deal.

Both of the Spaniards are reported to prefer a return to their motherland, with Barcelona keen to secure their signatures this summer.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail citing Spanish outlet Sport, reports that the Blues have hijacked United's transfer for De Jong and are looking to convince Barcelona to allow the talented midfielder to move to Stamford Bridge instead.

The report claims that the Blues are even prepared to offer Barcelona the duo of Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso as makeweights in a £51million players-plus-cash deal.

Barca are understood to be interested in signing the two Spaniard stars as Xavi seeks to strengthen his squad further during the ongoing window.
