Andreas Christensen has opened up on fulfilling a childhood dream by completing his move to Spanish outfit FC Barcelona.

The Danish centre-back was officially unveiled as a player for the Catalan giants on Thursday, July 7 2022, after completing a free transfer in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Prior to his dream move to the Blaugrana, Christensen spent a decade at Chelsea, honing his talent in Chelsea's academy before going out on loan for first-team experience and eventually becoming a regular for the Blues.

In his first press conference since his move from Chelsea, the Danish defender repeated many times that this had been a personal dream ever since he was a little child.

"I’m very proud,’ he said. When I was 8 years old I wrote my dreams for the future on a piece of paper: to be a professional footballer and play for Barca
"I would like to thank the President, Jordi Cruyff and Mateu Alemany for making this possible." Andreas told the media today as quoted by Metro.

The 26-year-old centre-half, who penned a four-year deal with the Catalans, also outlined his ambitions for joining Barcelona.

“I have come to Barcelona to win trophies” he added. “That is my main goal.”

Chelsea confirms exit of Andreas Christensen

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Chelsea has confirmed Danish defender, Andreas Christensen, alongside three other players, has left the English Premier League club this summer.

Christensen has been one of Chelsea’s key defenders in recent seasons as he played a huge role as the Blues strolled to UEFA Champions League success in the 2020/21 season.

The Blues, via its Twitter account, thanked Andreas Christensen for his contributions to the success of the Blues as the defender enters the next phase of his career.
