Super Eagles defender Tyronne Ebuehi has gotten the chance to continue playing his football in the first division after Italian Serie A side Empoli announced his signing from Benfica.

The 26-year-old right back signed a three-year deal with Empoli and he is gearing up to help the side in all competitions in the coming season.

Last season, the Nigerian played for Venezia in the Italian top flight, featuring in 19 matches, but could not rescue the Venice-based outfit from getting demoted to Serie B as they finished at the base of the log.

According to the reports on GOAL and Punch, Empoli announced that they are happy to be having the Nigerian in their squad as they look up to a fruitful season.

“Empoli Football Club announces that it has definitively acquired from Sport Lisboa and Benfica the right to the sports performance of Tyronne Ebuehi; the player has signed a contract until 30 June 2025.

“Tyronne Ebuehi is a Nigerian and Dutch defender born in Haarlem on December 16, 1995. Raised in the youth sectors of DSOV, Hoofddorp, Young Boys, HFC EDO Zaterdag and ADO Den Haag, with the latter club he made his debut in the Eredivisie at the age of 19.''

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen could be on the verge of joining Bayern Munich this summer as the Bundesliga champions are weighing up an astronomical bid for the Nigerian.

Osimhen has been hugely impressive for the Serie A giants since joining the club in 2020 from Lille and emerged as the team’s top scorer in the 2021/22 campaign with 18 goals in all competitions.

The 23-year-old’s performances have now attracted the interest of Bayern Munich who are now willing to table €120m to sign the Nigerian forward from Napoli.

With Robert Lewandowski ready to dump the Bundesliga champions for a move to Barcelona, the Bavarians believe Osimhen will be an ideal replacement for the Polish striker.
