The winner of next season's inaugural Carling Knockout Cup will get to underline their status as the competition's undisputed champions.
Earlier today, Premier Soccer League chairperson Irvin Khoza announce the return of the league cup after a three-year hiatus. Last time around, Mamelodi Sundowns won it under the name of the Telkom Knockout after defeating Maritzburg United 2-1 in the final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
SuperSport reported that the winners would play an "all-star" team made up of players from the other 15 teams in the tournament as well as their DStv Diski Challenge juniors. Sunday World also revealed that fans at home could vote for this Carling XI, consisting of six Premiership starters and five from the Diski Challenge.

Starting next season, the National First Division will be named the Motsepe Foundation Championship for sponsorship reasons.
As reported by Sports Brief, the announcement was made by CAF president Patrice Motsepe, who is the founder of the foundation.
The division had been known as the GladAfrica Championship since the 2019/20 season.
