FootballPitso Mosimane Responds to Al Ahly Fan Regretting His Departure, Cites Family for His Return to South Africa
- Former Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane has given his response to the Red Devils fans who were saddened by his departure from the club
- Some of them went onto social media to lament his sudden resignation from a post that had seen him continue the club's successful decades-long trophy hunt
- The 57-year-old Mosimane also revealed that he did so because he wanted to spend more time with his family
Pitso Mosimane has shared his thoughts on the Al Ahly fans who made it clear that they regret his departure from the club.
A post from a supporter this past weekend stating that he had improved the club went viral, adding that the 57-year-old had "hidden the club's flaws".
Responding to the tweet, Mosimane said:
@AhmedEissa my brother, please do not regret my departure. Al Ahly did not fire me or push me to go. I have big respect for President Khatib and the entire board including all the supporters of Al Ahly. I will always cherish all our trophy celebrations."

In another tweet, Mosimane revealed that family was the reason he called it quits in Cairo, adding:
"I have memories & archived (banners, chants of me at the stadiums). Unfortunately I decided to come home, I needed this rest with my family. You now have an experienced European Coach, everybody should support and I believe he will leave the jersey at a higher place than he got it."
Esperance coach Nabil Maaloul says that Pitso Mosimane should have been fired earlier by Al Ahly
The criticism of former Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane by prominent North African figures has continued even after his departure nearly a month ago.
This time, it was the turn of Esperance coach Nabil Maaloul to join in on the anti-Pitso Mosimane brigade's pile-on he was subjected to in the latter stages of his tenure with the Egyptian giants, as was reported by Sports Brief.
Maaloul believes that the 57-year-old South African should have been sacked much earlier than when he decided to call it quits.
