Manchester United players have reportedly welcomed Cristiano Ronaldo's intention to leave the club this summer.

Ronaldo re-joined United from Juventus in the last window on a two-year deal and now has an extra year left on his current contract.

However, reports suggest the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is looking to quit Old Trafford and has informed United chiefs about the intention.

According to The Mirror, the Portuguese ace is thought to have told the club that they should let him go should they get the right offer.

The publication claims that the 37-year-old is rumoured to be heavily frustrated with United's inactivity in the ongoing summer window.

The Times now reports that a section of the Man United dressing room has welcomed Ronaldo's plans to exit the club this summer.

It is believed that the players who would love to see the club icon depart feel they would be able to 'express' themselves more if the Portuguese depart.

The development comes at a time sharp divisions with the United dressing room have been reported.
