Manchester United are ready to play hardball with Cristiano Ronaldo as they are not ready to release the 37-year-old from his contract at the Old Trafford club.

Ronaldo has asked the Red Devils to allow him to leave the club once they receive a suitable offer as he wants to keep playing in the UEFA Champions League.

Manchester United expects Ronaldo to resume pre-season training on Monday, July 4th, at the club’s Carrington training base despite seeking a move away from the club The Sun reports.

The 37-year-old is also set for talks with manager, Erik ten Hag when he resumes as he is desperate to keep playing Champions League football which is something not on offer presently at United.

Ronaldo emerged as Manchester United’s top scorer last season after he scored 24 times for the Red Devils as they finished 6th in the Premier League.

Napoli are interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo could be in for a shock return to the Italian Serie A after just one season after leaving Juventus to return to the English Premier League with Manchester United.

According to The Peoples Person, Serie A giants, Napoli are understood to be interested in signing the 37-year-old forward who has indicated he wants to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Napoli finished 3rd in the Serie A last season and will offer the Portuguese striker the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Cristiano Ronaldo has told Manchester United to allow him to leave if a suitable offer comes by in a stunning new development.

The 37-year-old, who is showing no signs of slowing down in his football career, wants to leave and hopes United will not stand in the way of any offer.

Ronaldo’s decision is said to be motivated by his desire to play Champions League football, something United failed to qualify for last season with 24 goals and three assists in 39 appearances.
