They have already sold Richarlison for £60 million as Tottenham confirmed the arrival of the Brazilian international.

Lingard dropped down the pecking order at United last season and was left unimpressed at the place he graduated to the first team via the club's academy, Liverpool Echo reports.

It was gathered that West Ham have made three attempts to land the England international on a permanent basis, as Newcastle United are also said to be interested.

The 29-year-old has now made 32 appearances for the Three Lions of England and last featured last October during their World Cup qualifier win over Andorra.

Tottenham set to complete 3rd summer signing

Meanwhile, Tottenham are set to finalize a deal for their third summer signing within the next 24 hours as they look set to complete the capture of Richarlison from Everton.

Spurs have already secured the signatures of Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan and Fraser Forster from Southampton both on free transfers.

The North London club is now hopeful they can raise the £50m asking price of Recharlison who Antonio Conte has identified as a key target to strengthen the Spurs attack.

Fernandinho bids farewell to Manchester City

Sports Brief earlier reported that departing Manchester City captain Fernandinho on Thursday, June 30 penned an emotional farewell to the club as his contract officially ran out.

The midfielder’s next destination is already confirmed, and he will join his boyhood club Athletico Paranaense in a two-year deal, with rumoured plans to hang up his boots once his contract expires.

Following his departure, Fernandinho, 37, took to Twitter with a poetic post to celebrate Manchester City and everything the club has achieved while he was there.
