Edouard Mendy has penned a moving message to Petr Cech who left his official role at Chelsea earlier this week.

Cech was serving as the Performance and Technical advisor but he was part of the casualties as new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly continues with his revamp.

Before taking up the role, he built a name for himself on the pitch and is undoubtedly the best Chelsea goalkeeper in history. Cech was instrumental in Chelsea's title-winning seasons. He will be remembered fondly by the Blues folklore for his penalty-saving heroics in the 2012 Champions League.

But the current number one choice at Chelsea Mendy will remember him for different reasons. Cech is credited as the person who scouted Mendy and followed up on signing from Rennes in 2020.

Chelsea at that time were struggling between the sticks with Kepa Arrizabalaga doing little to inspire confidence. Mendy arrived at Stamford Bridge and was immediately thrust into action by then manager, Frank Lampard.
