Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has disclosed that Ghana can shine at the upcoming FIFA World Cup if conditions are favourable for the team.

Ayew missed the Black Stars' crucial World Cup play-off against Nigeria due to suspension after picking a red card against Comoros Island at the Africa Cup of Nation.

Thomas Partey captained the team against the Super Eagles, and after the two-legged encounter, Ghana sealed qualification to Qatar 2022.

Ayew believes with good conditions and the proper preparations, the team will excel.

“I hope outside the pitch, our FA, the sports ministry will do everything so we don’t go through any bad experience again,” he told GTV Sports+, quoted by GhanaSportsOnline.
“I believe that, if we do our things right, if we believe, if we have the support and the prayers from our homeland, everything is possible.”

The Black Stars are pitted with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Group H of the World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December 2022.

Andre Ayew Appears Before Parliament to Answer Questions About Ghana’s 2021 AFCON Disaster

Sports Brief earlier reported that Andre Ayew has finally appeared before Parliament’s Select Committee on Youth and Sports following Ghana's dismal performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ayew, captain of the Black Stars and by extension leader of the player delegation at the 2021 AFCON, was summoned to appear before Ghana's parliament to answer questions pertaining to the country's poor showing at the continental showpiece.

Unfortunately for the Al Sadd ace, his club ties immediately after the AFCON made it impossible to meet the Committee, tasked to investigate the Black Stars’ poor showing at the tournament.
