Kenyan international Clarke Oduor’s career is set to take a bad twist as Barnsley look to axe some of their players to keep themselves afloat financially.
Oduor joined Barnsley from Leeds United back in 2019 when the club was enjoying a fairly decent time in the English Championship.
In recent months, however, The Tykes have endured a torrid dip in form that saw them finish last in the English second tier for the 2021/22 season , inevitably dropping to League One.

Duff’s appointment is only one of major changes expected at the club, which is now on a cost-cutting mission having suffered relegation.
This could see Barnsley sell a number of their players, and Oduor is not safe from the axe.
Last season, the Kenyan only made 20 appearances out of a possible 46 in the league, completing only two games the entire season.
Barnsley is now looking to cushion itself from losses averaging £7-8million as a result of their relegation.
“Aaron Leya Iseka is thought to be a high-earner who could leave this summer, while it is not clear where winger Luke Thomas or Clarke Oduor, who is yet to truly impress at left-back or on the wing while seeing himself as a number ten, will fit into Duff’s formation.” An article from the Barnsley chronicle read in part.
