The new boss Ten Hag will be delighted as he officially begins his role as the Manchester United manager.
Ten Hag had worked with De Jong at Dutch club Ajax and the tactician will hope that the 25-year-old will be part of the squad that will embark on their tour of Thailand and Australia at the end of next week.
However, Maguire is said to be happy at the Theatre of Dreams as the skipper believes he still has a lot to offer the club, even though last season was difficult, Daily Post reports.
United finished with their lowest ever Premier League points tally as they ended the campaign in sixth place.
