Cape Town City’s Luphumlo Sifumba Becomes 1st South African Footballer to Sign With Jay Z’s Roc Nation Agency

Cape Town City’s Luphumlo “Kaka” Sifumba has made history by becoming the first SA footballer to sign Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Agency.

The internationally-renowned talent management agency was founded by US rapper Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter in 2008.

Roc Nation has already signed deals with a number of South African sports stars and has partnerships with numerous teams, including the Sharks and DStv Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Cape Town City youngster is only 16 years old but has already made quite a name for himself.

Kaka became the youngest player in club history to feature in the DStv Diski Challenge last year (when he was just 15) and later was invited to train with the first team, Sowetan LIVE reported.

The club also took to social media to congratulate the young star and wish him well in his future endeavours.

By becoming the first South African football to join Roc Nation Sports International (RNSI), he also joins a group of international players, including Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Tyrone Mings, who are all part of the agency.

RNSI will also manage Sifumba’s career both on and off the field while providing him guidance and support as he continues to progress to a senior level.

Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Ayanda Patosi appears to be on the way back to the DStv Premiership.

He was seen being a part of the first group of players that trained at Cape Town City during pre-season preparations, with coach Eric Tinkler watching on. Patosi's contract with Iranian side Foolad expires at the end of the month.

Patosi, a former player of the Cape Town City team, has been previously linked with Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Kevin de Bruyne has had a brilliant season for Manchester City and continues to be a star for the Belgian national team.

The Man City maestro has played 45 games in all competitions this season and scored 19 while providing 14 assists.
