Video footage showing Lionel Messi watching Argentina's missed chances in the 2014 World Cup has emerged online.
The footage, which is either pleasing or painful depending on whether you are a Messi die-hard or not, captures Messi's reactions as his side came close to winning football's biggest trophy.
Argentina were set to cap off a wonderful run and win the World Cup in the home soil of their eternal rivals Brazil. But a couple of missed chances against Germany saw Messi miss out on the only trophy missing in his impressive cabinet.

Germany had thrashed Brazil 7-1 while Argentina had seen off the Netherlands on post-match penalties to set up a final at the Maracana Stadium in Rio.
The final was marked both by defensive solidity and profligacy with the 90 minutes ending goalless. Gonzalo Higuain was particularly guilty of missing huge chances that could have turned the game's tide.
In the interview with FIFA, Messi was shown some of his chances and he said as quoted by the Sport Bible.
I don’t know. What can I say… it’s a pity.
It’s a pity given all the chances we had in that game. We had the better chances and, well… we’ll regret the chances we had but couldn’t score for the rest of our lives.
