- German Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin has decided to extend the contract of experienced Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng
- The 35-year-old played a key role as Hertha Berlin recovered from a first-leg defeat to beat Hamburg at home and stay in the league
- Boateng returned to Hertha Berlin last year June from Serie B side Monza, making 18 appearances overall and accumulating 694 minutes of playing time
Ghanaian midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng has extended his contract with Hertha Berlin ahead of the 2022/23 Bundesliga season.
Boateng was influential as the capital-based side survive the drop after emerging victors in the promotion/relegation playoff.
He will now continue to play for the capital club for another season.
Hertha's managing director Fredi Bobic confirmed Boateng's contract extension during the unveiling of new manager Sandro Schwarz on Monday
"Kevin-Prince Boateng will also play for Hertha BSC next season. An extension should be implemented in the next few days," he said, as quoted by GhanaSoccernet.
“Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sandro Schwarz had a good conversation. It feels like there are only a few little things in the contract. It should be completed in the next few days," added.
Schwarz held talks with the Ghana international last week and agreed to give him a role in the team ahead of the new season.

Meanwhile, Kevin-Prince Boateng has married his Italian model girlfriend, Valentina Fradegrada in the metaverse.
The Hertha Berlin star, who has been dating Valentina since October 2021, tied the knot with his girlfriend on Saturday in Siena, Italy.
In photos posted on Instagram, the pair are seen happily celebrating the moment as they become husband and wife.
