The 2021/22 season was the year of Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali.
The 32-year-old former Bafana Bafana midfielder was once again part of a Treble-winning campaign with Masandawana.
As reported by iDiski Times, Jali was instrumental in Orlando Pirates' consecutive Treble seasons of 2011 and 2012. He then became the first player in the history of the South African football to win a third (2020) and fourth (2022) Treble with Sundowns.
At the PSL Awards in May, Jali was named the DStv Premiership Midfielder of the Season, the MTN 8 Last Man Standing and Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament, as per the PSL's website.
Speaking on the club's website about this unprecedented success he said:
“I am very excited to be recognized for my determination and passion for the team. These awards would not have been made possible without my teammates and the coaching crew. We fought gallantly across every competition we participated in and I am proud to be part of another historic season with Sundowns.
