- United had been linked with Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez, but lost the duo to Man City and Liverpool respectively
- Reports suggest the Red Devils had their opening offer of £51.5m for Evanilson rejected, with Porto valuing the Brazilian much more
Portuguese giants, FC Porto, have set the price Man United must meet to sign Brazilian striker, Evanilson.
United are in the market for a prolific striker to partner Cristiano Ronaldo up front after the departure of Edinson Cavani.
Metro UK reports new boss, Erik ten Hag, is keen to bring in a new number nine, with the Red Devils currently very short on striker options.
According to the publication, United had long been linked with a move for Erling Haaland and had also shown interest in Darwin Nunez.
However, they ended up losing the duo to Premier League rivals, with Haaland joining Manchester City as Liverpool snapped up Nunez.
Manchester United turn focus on Evanilson
Portuguese newspaper Record now reports that the Reds Devils have turned their attention to signing Evanilson to solve their striking crisis.
It is understood United have already had an opening bid of £51.5m plus bonuses for the 22-year-old rejected by Porto.
Porto reportedly rebuffed the bid as they believe the Brazilian striker is worth considerably more.
With Liverpool paying on the upward of £65m for Nunez, the Portuguese giants are expected to demand a fee in the same region as the new Liverpool acquisition.
While Evanilson was not quite as prolific as Nunez in the Portuguese league last season, he still netted 14 times in 30 appearances.
