- Lewandowski looks likely to quit Bayern this summer with Barcelona his most preferred next club
- Chelsea are also in the running considering that Barcelona might fail to raise funds to and pay Lewandowski, but the striker's concerns will be a concern
Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski is reportedly having serious doubts about joining Chelsea. Lewandowski is unsure of whether he can replicate his top form in the competitive English Premier League.
It is no longer a secret that the Polish star wants out of Germany this summer. The relationship between the Bavarians and their main man has deteriorated with Lewandowski holding press conferences explaining he wants to quit.
It is understood that Barcelona is his preferred destination. Barca head coach Xavi Hernandez is also interested in signing the 33-year-old but there are serious doubts about whether the club can afford his transfer.
Lewandowski currently has one year left on his contract and Bayern will be keen to cash in on him. The other club that has emerged as a possible contender is Chelsea.
The Blues are set to lose Romelu Lukaku who is keen on forcing a move back to Inter Milan. Thomas Tuchel is understood to be on the hunt for a new striker and Lewandowski fits the bill of the German coach.
However, the Evening Standard reports that Lewandowski is not ready to move to England. His former agent Cezary Kucharski said:
I always heard Robert give a childish explanation that it rains so much in England. But I think the real reason was that he didn’t think he could be as efficient as in Germany. Robert was really afraid of that.
