FootballLuka Modric Mocked Mohamed Salah After Real Madrid Beat Liverpool in Champions League Final
- Rodrygo Goes has revealed that Real Madrid players were extra motivated to win the Champions League final so that they can mock Mohamed Salah
- The Liverpool forward had gone public a couple of times, reiterating his wish and desire to exact his revenge after failing to finish the game the last time the two sides met in a final
- Rodrygo scored the quick-fire brace in the semi-finals against Manchester City that enabled Carlo Ancelotti's side to complete an incredible comeback
It has now been revealed that a section of Real Madrid players led by Luka Modric mocked Mohamed Salah in the aftermath of the Champions League final.
Rodrygo Goes has revealed that they taunted Salah before and after their win in Paris. The build-up to the final had been marked by Salah's public comments about his desire to get revenge over Real Madrid.
The Egyptian was injured in the first half of the 2018 final where Real Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1. He was once again on the bad side of the result this year when a Vinicius Junior striker earned Real Madrid a record 14th title.
Rodrygo, in an interview with Podpah, reveals that Modric told Salah to 'try again next time.'
When a guy provokes you, sometimes you just want to win so you can make fun of them. In training, we used to say "come on Salah, come on Salah".
We knew we had to win so that we can make fun of Salah.
After the game, we passed the Liverpool players in the corridor. Salah was a bit sad and Modric said "try again next time".
It was a game marked by Liverpool's dominance but Real Madrid's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois put in a man-of-the-match performance to thwart Salah and company severally.

FootballLuka Modric believes Argentina will win the World Cup
At the same time, Sports Brief earlier reported that Luka Modric has touted Argentina as strong favourites to win the World Cup later this year.
The Croatian captain has claimed that Argentina are a good team and the addition of Lionel Messi makes them practically unplayable. Argentina have placed themselves in a prime position to win football’s greatest trophy by winning the Copa America and the Finalissima trophies.
The side will be hoping to go one better than their 2014 exploits where they reached the final and lost to Germany.
