Arsenal Agree £35million Deal for Talented Fc Porto Midfielder

FC Porto have confirmed they have agreed on a deal with Arsenal for Fabio Vieira.

In a statement released on Friday, June 17, the Portuguese giants said the deal was worth 40m euro (£34.2m).

Arsenal are now set to pay an initial 35m euros (£29.9m), and the rest will be paid in add-ons.

Vieira, who plays predominantly as a midfielder, is yet to earn a senior cap with Portugal, although he has been tipped to be a huge success.

The 22-year-old was recently voted player of the tournament at the European Under-21 Championship last year and provided a league-high 14 assists for Porto in the league last season.

His six goals in 27 league games were also important in helping Porto retain their league title.

Porto also revealed in the statement that they were working on the final touches of the deal, but the transfer is expected to be completed in the coming days.

At the moment, talks are mainly revolving around personal terms and if everything goes as planned, the deal will be finalized this weekend.

Notably, Vieira has also attracted interest from Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool before Arsenal eventually won the race for his signature.
