Super Eagles forward Moses Simon, on Thursday evening, 16 June, met Governor Samuel Ioraer Ortom of Benue State in his house in Abuja and presented him a jersey.
After Super Eagles' African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome, Moses Simon and some of his teammates returned to Nigeria to see their family members.
The 26-year-old, who plays for Nantes in France, then decided to visit his State's Governor in Abuja, where they discussed football development in Nigeria.
Moses Simon was not alone as the forward was accompanied by Kola Daniel who is the Media Aide to Nigeria's Sports Minister Sunday Dare.
According to Kola Daniel, who spoke with Sports Brief, he explained that Governor Samuel Ioraer Ortom was not happy about how Super Eagles missed the 2022 World Cup ticket.

''It was a great moment following my friend to see Governor Samuel Ioraer Ortom and we discussed many things most especially on the pains of losing World Cup ticket to Ghana.

Mikel was on hand to give cash rewards to the best players in several sports.
However, one moment caught the attention of his fans and this came when the former Nigerian international spoke in Pidgin English while answering a question about why the event did not witness a lot of female participants.
