Dylan Kerr kept Swallows FC in the promised land but is in still unsure about his future at the club.
Swallows beat the University of Pretoria 1-0 to win the relegation/promotion playoff and secure their spot in the DStv Premiership next season.
Kerr was appointed as coach of the Soweto-based side after Brandon Truter was fired and given six months to help the club avoid relegation, which he did.
His contract is set to expire at the end of June but he has yet to receive any reassurances of a new deal, iDiski Times reported.
Kerr will also head back to the UK after saving Swallows to attend to personal matters and won’t be in the country to discuss a possible contract renewal, Sowetan Live confirmed.
“I came for six months. It is something that we both agreed on, me and the chairman David Mogashoa, but I need to go home to the UK because I have some personal issues I need to sort out,” he said.
He added that it was up to the chairman now to decide whether he deserves a new contract with the club.
“In football there are so many coaches looking for jobs and I am hoping that the chairman is happy with what we have done. I hope he is happy with the way we played’” Kerr added.

Kerr referenced the comments during his post-match talk after Swallows FC’s game against the University of Pretoria. Swallows won the match 1-0 to secure their DStv Premiership status, Times LIVE reported.

The Dube Birds ran out 1-0 winners against the University of Pretoria at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, Tshwane on Wednesday afternoon. Yagan Sasman scored in the 61st minute to score what would turn out to be the winner.
The University needed only just a draw and possibly more to be promoted, while a win and nothing less was required for Swallows to retain their status in South Africa's top flight.
