Chelsea 2022/2023 Premier League Fixtures: Tricky Start for Thomas Tuchel Under Todd Boehly

• Chelsea have been handed a tricky-looking set of fixtures in the released Premier League calendar for next season

Chelsea will open their English Premier League campaign against Everton at the Goodison Park on August 6th. The Premier League has just released the fixtures of the new season that will start earlier due to the FIFA World Cup in November.

Thomas Tuchel dropped four points against Toffees last season, drawing the first leg against Rafael Benitez before Chelsea legend and former manager, Frank Lampard engineered a shock victory in the second leg.

After Everton, Chelsea will face another of its former bosses in Antonio Conte when Tottenham Hotspurs travel to Stamford Bridge. Tuchel beat Tottenham four times last season and Conte will be out to seek revenge.

Trips to Leeds United and Southampton and another home game against Leicester City will wrap up Chelsea's first five games.

The Blues will be looking to bridge the gap between themselves and last season's top two, Liverpool and Manchester City. A section of the fans will be hopeful that the new era of Todd Boehly can inspire a title challenge. Chelsea last won the Premier League in 2016 under Antonio Conte.

September will see Chelsea have London derbies against West Ham United and the promoted Fulham before facing another big test at home when Liverpool come calling.

The other promoted sides, AFC Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest will have a date with Chelsea in back-to-back games in December. Bournemouth has in the past proved to be a bogey team for the Blues.

The first clash against Arsenal will take place in November, followed up by another clash against Newcastle before leagues worldwide take a break for the World Cup.

Tuchel will open next year with a high-stakes clash against the defending champions Manchester City. They will then meet again in Chelsea's second-last game of the season.

Fans troll Chelsea after Timo Werner shines for Germany

Sports Brief had earlier reported that football fans were quick to take to social media to castigate Chelsea after Timo Werner bagged a brace for Germany against Italy in the UEFA Nations League.

Werner scored twice in quick succession as Germany thrashed Italy 5-2 on Tuesday night.
