Mathew Anim Cudjoe says the pitch will decide which player makes it to the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
The former Ghana U20 star is confident of gatecrashing coach Otto Addo's squad for the global showpiece.
In an interview with Tv3, the Dundee United winger revealed he is preparing for a call up and will be ready when needed by the coach.
“Yes of course [I’ll be called for World Cup]. We [Dundee United] qualified for the Europa League so I’ll be part of the squad. I’m in Ghana training very hard so I have confidence that the Black Stars will call me for the World Cup. I believe in myself so there is no problem. The pitch will decide,” he stated on TV3 NewDay.
“I want to be part of this team [Black Stars] for the World Cup in November. That’s my dream for now so I’m working hard to get there,” he added.
Mathew Anim Cudjoe, a member of Ghana's U20 team that won the 2020 Africa Youth Championship, has been involved in personal training since returning home.
He is yet to earn a first senior call up from the national team.
The Black Stars qualified for the World Cup after beating Nigeria on the away goal rule in the play-offs.
Ghanaian youngster Mathew Anim Cudjoe makes Dundee United debut
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana U20 sensation Matthew Anim Cudjoe made was in action for Dundee United for the first time in the Scottish Premier League on Saturday.
The former Asante Kotoko attacking midfielder was introduced in the second half as the Terrors held Hibernian to a 1-1 draw away at the Easter Road Stadium.
Cudjoe came on for Mark McNulty in the 79th minute and lasted 11 minutes on the pitch.
