Moroka Swallows will play in next season's DStv Premiership campaign.
The Dube Birds ran out 1-0 winners against the University of Pretoria at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, Tshwane on Wednesday afternoon. Yagan Sasman scored in the 61st minute to score what would turn out to be the winner.
On the balance of play, AmaTuks should have ran out clear winners but for their finishing in front of goals. The match proved to be a physical one with all to play for both sides.
The University needed only just a draw and possibly more to be promoted, while a win and nothing less was required for Swallows to retain their status in South Africa's top-flight.
AmaTuks now has to watch on in the GladAfrica Championship as Richards Bay FC prepare for life in the big lights of the game. Cape Town All Stars had already been eliminated from proceedings after losing to AmaTuks last week Wednesday.
Attention now turns fully to the ABC Motsepe League play-offs which are currently taking place in Potchefstroom. Nine teams from each province are vying for two places in the National First Division, now commonly known as the GladAfrica Championship.
