  • Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha has chosen Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba and Cristiano Ronaldo as three of the best Premier League strikers ever
  • Zaha placed Henry ahead of the trio labelling his confidence as a key factor in his impressive successes in the Premier League
  • The winger also lauded his international compatriot Didier Drogba for his ability to show up in big games for his Chelsea side

Wilfried Zaha has ranked Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, as his best striker in the Premier League of all time. The Crystal Palace forward waxed lyrical about Henry when he was asked to name his best forward in the Premier League.

Zaha also placed Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo second and Chelsea’s Didier Drogba third. Henry who was part of the invincible squad of 2004 was Zaha’s childhood hero.

In an interview with Sky Sports as quoted by Sportskeeda, the 29-year-old said:

Thierry Henry was someone I looked upto massively. The main thing with him was the confidence he had, he just oozed confidence like he knew how good he was and nobody could tell him anything. He's definitely my number 1.
The best thing about him was that he knew it, he knew that this is what I can do, I can hurt teams at any moment so seeing him on the ball and taking on 3 guys and going past them and just slotting it and the way he slotted it was like whenever anyone finished like that you'd think Henry so yeah, he was a different player.

The England-born Ivory Coast international said that for Ronaldo, it is his mentality and how he takes care of his body that has always set him apart.

Didier Drogba was a legend in Ivory Coast despite failing to win the coveted Africa Cup of Nations. He led Chelsea to the 2012 Champions League triumph in one of his most dominant performances.

He's a player that turns up in big games and that's what players at the top need, that's why he was at the top for so long. He's a very influential player and person because he's from my country and I've spoken to him a few times.

Jamie Carragher wipes out Usain Bolt with a strong challenge

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Liverpool’s legend Jamie Carragher took out sprinting legend Usain Bolt in a Soccer Aid match on Sunday at the London stadium.

The two sporting heroes were on opposite sides when England XI took on the Rest of the World. The match was part of a charity campaign to raise funds by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The Rest of the World finally won the game on post-match penalties after a two-all draw in normal time. The team is managed by former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and famous actor Idris Elba.
